Yalan HU is a bicoastal director and producer based in Los Angeles, CA, and Tallahassee, FL, boasting a decade of experience in narrative and documentary storytelling. With an international background in directing news documentaries and reality shows spanning China, Australia, and South Asia, she passionately addresses pressing social issues. Her films have garnered awards at numerous festivals in America and Europe.

Yalan also serves as a producer, backing indie narrative and documentary features that explore complex social dilemmas, Asian/Black communities, and issues affecting minors.

Most recently, she served as a judge for the 100 Voices of Florida Grant Competition, supporting emerging local filmmakers in Florida.
